Police in Kuala Selangor are currently searching for a group of cyclists who allegedly blocked the bus along Kilometre 23 of the Kuala Selangor-Kuala Lumpur road heading towards Sungai Buloh.
“The initial investigation found that the group rode in a pack on the left lane, likely hindering the bus’s movement,” said District Police Chief Superintendent Azaharudin Tajudin.
He added that the incident is believed to have taken place on Sunday at about 9.35am, though it did not result in any reported accidents.
“This case is being investigated under Regulation 42(3) of the Road Traffic Rules 1959 for racing or competing while riding a bicycle,” explained the Superintendent.
He confirmed that an effort to locate the cyclists is underway and urged anyone with details to contact the operations room at the Kuala Selangor District Police Headquarters (03-3289 1222) or the nearest police station.
A clip of the altercation was shared on Facebook, where users saw a heated exchange between the bus driver and the cyclists.
Superintendent Azaharudin also advised all road users to follow traffic regulations and respect the rights and safety of others.
