For the first time in the history of Bangladesh after August 7, Bangladesh Jamaat -e -Islami organized such a large rally in the historic Suhrawardy Gardens. Millions of activists of the party gathered from across the country on Saturday (July 7). Although it is their major achievement in the political context of Bangladesh, it is a matter of seeing the party’s future politics.

Claim to implement seven points from the rally
Voting in the PR system, all the killings that took place on August 7, 2021, basic reforms at all levels of the state, implementation of the July Charter and Declaration, rehabilitation of the families of the casualties in July, the voting rights of the expatriates and the level playing field of the vote.

The main episode of the rally begins at noon. Earlier, the central leaders of Jamaat came to the stage. Jamaat’s Amir Dr. Shafiqur Rahman. At one point in the speech, he suddenly fell ill. He stood up with the help of the activists, but he fell ill again. Later, Jamaat Amir finished the speech.

In a brief speech, he said, “As long as Allah has given the Hiyat, the fight for the people will continue. If Allah gives us the opportunity, I will not be the owner, I will be a servant. We are declaring that those who will be elected from Jamaat in the future will not take any government gifts. MP-ministers will not allocate government plots, do not ride in a taxless car. Do not run the government allocation in your own hands. ‘

Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, “If they (Jamaat MP-minister) get allotment for a specific task, it will be forced to take the details of the 10 million people in Bangladesh.” We will not contribute, we will not do corruption. We will not let the contribution, we will not tolerate corruption. ‘

Those who came to the rally
Jamaat -e -Islami leaders, supporters were supporters, people from different classes participated in the rally. The party invited the leaders of different parties to the rally. Many of them also spoke on various issues. However, the once political ally BNP was not invited to the rally.

Rally
Among the parties participating in the rally were the leaders of several political parties and organizations including the National Citizens Party (NCP), Hefazat -e -Islam, Khilafat Movement, Islamic Movement Bangladesh and Public Rights Council. Many of them agreed with the seven points of Jamaat.

BNP was not present at the rally
After 9, the BNP and Jamaat -e -Islami increased. In the political context, the BNP came to power by forming a four -party alliance including Jamaat -e -Islami in the 21st. The two parties operated together from 20-20. In December 2022, the two parties were separated on the basis of compromise. The team took two parts in the coup last year last year, but the turn changed after August 7.

BNP standing committee member Salahuddin Ahmed confirmed that the BNP was not invited to the rally. On the other hand, Jamaat’s deputy Amir Dr. Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher said the parties in favor of the PR were invited to the rally only.

Obviously the BNP is in a strong position against this PR system. However, from the Jamaat -e -Islami Saturday’s rally, this manner expressed his position in favor of the vote.

In this regard, Maulana Ataur Rahman, secretary general of the Islamic Movement, said those who really want reform in the country, want to make the election meaningful, they have come to the stage. In his words, some political parties only want elections in the interest of power. This rally against him is of importance.

Political analyst Dr. Jahed Ur Rahman told Deutsche Welle that Jamaat is already seeking to build a joint opposition party, whose main force will be the Islamic parties. As a result, the Qomi -based Madras -based groups were opposed to them. Beyond that they want to take some other teams like NCP. Through this rally, Jamaat informed his position.

Jamaat’s strategic position on women after August 7, but their absence in such a large rally has also been noticed by many. However, one of the party leaders said they did not come because the women did not have the opportunity to participate. However, there are a large number of women supporters and in the future, separate arrangements are being considered for women.
