KUALA LUMPUR: Four men and a Vietnamese woman have been charged at two Ampang Magistrate’s Courts here on charges of drug trafficking at a condominium last month.
The accused are Lu Jui Tse, 27, Chang Heng Pin, 37, and Hsu Chia Kuei, 28, all Taiwanese; Yee Wei Keh, 37, a Malaysian; and Do Thi Thanh Thanh, 20, from Vietnam.
Before Magistrate Amalina Basirah Md Top on Tuesday (July 8), Lu, Chang, Yee and Do were charged with jointly trafficking 2,767g of cocaine at a condominium in Jalan Nipah here at 4.15pm on June 25.
Hsu was charged before Magistrate Normaizan Rahim with two counts of drug trafficking, involving 140ml of methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA) and 56g of cocaine at 4.35pm at the same place and date.
However, no plea was recorded from the accused as the case is under the jurisdiction of the High Court
They were charged under Section 39B(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, read together with Section 34 of the Penal Code, which provides for the death penalty, or life imprisonment and at least 12 strokes of the cane, upon conviction.
Hsu also pleaded not guilty to a charge of possessing 40.68g of cannabis at the same place, time and date under Section 6 of the Dangerous Drugs Act.
