Police have apprehended nine foreign nationals aged between 24 and 37 following a brawl at a construction site in Bangsar.

“The incident, which involved a group of men engaged in a fight at the work site, was reported to police on Monday (July 14) at 4.53pm,” Brickfields deputy OCPD Supt Ahmad Firdaus Mustaffa Kamal said in a statement.

He added that six yellow safety helmets and three scaffolding rods were seized as police believe these were used in the altercation.

“On Tuesday (July 15), all nine suspects were brought before a magistrate and remanded for four days until Friday (July 18) for further investigation.

“The case is being investigated under Section 148 of the Penal Code for rioting with weapons,” he added.

Supt Ahmad Firdaus issued a stern warning to the public against involvement in any violent activities, highlighting the legal consequences.
