JOHOR BARU: A 48-year-old man suffered a fatal heart attack following a road accident in Taman Ungku Tun Aminah here on Monday morning.

Johor Baru North OCPD Assistant Commissioner Balveer Singh said police received a report from the public at around 8.45am regarding the incident, which involved a van and a car along Jalan Nakhoda 1.

“The incident occurred when the van, driven by the deceased, was reversing and collided with a car driven by a 43-year-old woman at the scene.

“Paramedics later pronounced the van driver dead at the location due to a heart attack,” he said in a statement on Monday (Jan 6).

ACP Balveer confirmed that the other driver was uninjured. The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
