Declaring that the people of the Capital have made up their minds to walk forward with the BJP, former Union Minister Anurag Thakur on Tuesday released the second installment of the party’s ‘Sankalp Patra’ or manifesto for the February 5 elections.

Thakur said the second part of the ‘Developed Delhi Sankalp Patra 2025’ was accompanied by BJP’s pledge to make Delhi a developed city and this journey would move from Sankalp (resolve) to Siddhi (achievement) in the coming five years.

The party’s poll promises also include a special investigation team to probe several “scams” which, unfolded under the AAP government’s tenure.

“Wherever BJP has been in power, public welfare has always been a priority and the focal point. The BJP government is at the Centre, and with the support of the states, we have resolved citizens’ issues… While AAP is in power in Delhi, when the nation faced a disaster like Covid-19 pandemic, it was (Prime Minister) Narendra Modi who introduced welfare schemes, provided food for 80 crore people, and administered free vaccines, helping everyone overcome the crisis,” Thakur told mediapersons.

“What Congress could not do in 60 years, the Modi government did in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, by approving a Rs 44,605-crore project for river interlinking and hydroelectric power schemes. Under the Jal Jeevan Mission, clean water is available through taps at an altitude of 17,000 feet in the mountains, but AAP did not implement the Jal Jeevan Mission in Delhi,” he added.

Festive offer

Accusing AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal and Chief Minister Atishi of not implementing central welfare schemes in the Capital “for political gains”, Thakur said that once the BJP formed the government in Delhi, it will address problems related to transportation, water, electricity, education. , and healthcare.

“We will work to provide a better future and a better present for the people of Delhi. We will not make excuses like neighboring states. With Modi’s government at the Center and the Modi government in Delhi, we will work together,” he said.

“Once the BJP government is formed, an SIT will be set up to investigate the Mohalla Clinic scam, the classroom scam, the DTC bus scam, and the Jal Board scam… Once our government is formed, we will ensure free education for needy students. in Delhi, from KG to PG,” he added.

Meanwhile, former Delhi Chief Minister and AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal opposed BJP’s manifesto alleging that the party had made clear its plan to “end free education for all in government schools” and restricting it only to “needy” students.

“I am glad they have honestly admitted their true intentions and motives… BJP is saying that if they come to power, they will stop free education. We have repeatedly said that if they come to power, they will shut down free healthcare. If they come to power, they will stop free electricity,” he alleged.

“Today, they released another manifesto. In this manifesto, they have written that the free education provided in Delhi’s schools will be discontinued,” Kejriwal said referring to the BJP’s announcement on education.

“Right now, free education is provided to everyone in schools, not just to the needy – it is for everyone. This means they will stop free education for everyone and only provide it to the needy,” he added.

Issuing a warning to the people, Kejriwal said, “This is a very dangerous party. Do not even mistakenly vote for them. Your household budget will be disrupted such that living in Delhi will become impossible for you.”
