The United States’ war monitoring organization, the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), has stated that the capability of Hamas, the Palestinian militant group seeking independence, to wage war remains intact.

The organization reported that since March 18, Hamas fighters have carried out at least 70 attacks targeting Israeli soldiers near Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City. Following last year’s destruction campaign at Al-Shifa, Israeli forces have returned to the area with incursions. These attacks demonstrate that Hamas’s capabilities remain undiminished.

In a statement, the organization mentioned that the intensity of these attacks indicates Hamas’s resilience in waging war, despite ongoing Israeli military operations.

Currently, at least six factions allied with Hamas are engaged in warfare against Israeli forces around Al-Shifa.

Earlier, on March 3, Israel had claimed to have completely destroyed Hamas from the region of Gaza known as Zaitun. However, Israeli forces returned to the area on Wednesday, implying that Hamas fighters are still active in orchestrating their operations. Similar activities are also ongoing in Zaitun.

On October 7 last year, hostilities erupted between Hamas and Israel. This conflict has lasted for more than six months, resulting in the loss of nearly 33,000 Palestinian lives, the majority of whom were women and children.

Israeli forces have been launching extensive attacks from Gaza in an attempt to completely eliminate Hamas. However, they have not been successful in this endeavor yet.
