KAJANG: The home of Selangor centreback Ahmad Khuzaimi Piee (pic) was targeted by burglars as there were no occupants at the time, says Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan.

The Selangor police chief said the initial investigation revealed that the suspects monitored other houses prior to breaking into the footballer’s home in Shah Alam on May 22.

“His house was not targeted because he was a Selangor football player.

“We believe the suspects chose the victim’s home as the empty home presented a lower risk for them,” he told reporters after launching the “Taman Angkat Amanita” programme on Saturday (June 8).

CCTV footage showed that two men were involved in the burglary, he said.

“The vehicle used by the suspect had fake number plates.

“However, we are in the midst of tracking down the suspects,” he said.

It was reported that cops were probing the burglary at the footballer’s home.

The 31-year-old footballer had lodged a police report alleging that his house was broken into at about 11.30pm on Wednesday (May 22).

Initial investigation showed that the suspect was believed to have used a white MPV to go to the house before stealing the victim’s motorcycle.

Other items stolen were passports and designer bags.
