In neighboring Manipur, too, many were affected by the floods left behind by the cyclone. Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh announced that the work to remove floodwater and clean waterlogged areas has begun. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Singh wrote, “Continuing our efforts to remove floodwater and clean waterlogged areas, Manipur Fire Service teams have begun work to declog obstructions and restore the flow of the Naga River at North AOC Imphal.”

Three major rivers crossing Assam – Kopili, Barak and Kushiyara – continued to flow above the danger level, as of Sunday, PTI quoted the ASDMA bulletin statement.

The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), SDRF, and local administration are carrying out relief and rescue operations in the affected areas. Over 39,000 displaced people have been taking shelter in 193 relief camps in different districts across Assam, according to PTI.
