Foreign Minister and Joint General Secretary of Bangladesh Awami League Dr. Hasan Mahmood said some MoUs were signed during the Prime Minister’s visit to India, and some MoUs were renewed, but no agreement was signed.
But the BNP leaders are saying that the agreement has been signed. Did Mirza Fakhrul teach at Dhaka College, along with some other leaders of BNP. Moin Khan is also educated. I don’t understand why the educated leaders of BNP are talking like uneducated people who do not understand the difference between agreement and memorandum of understanding.
He said that all the agreements were made in the interest of the country. We want to increase the connectivity, Dhaka-Kolkata, Khulna-Kolkata, Dinajpur-Siliguri trains have already been started to increase the connectivity, preparations for starting the train through Akhaura have been completed. We have signed an agreement to import hydropower from Nepal through India, talks are also going on with Bhutan. We want to increase that connectivity. And with that connectivity we also want to add Nepal and Bhutan. We want to increase connectivity in the interest of the development and economic prosperity of the people of this region. But BNP is creating confusion about it.
The foreign minister said these things while addressing the chief guest at the seminar titled “Bangladesh Awami League and Bangabandhu” on the occasion of 75 years of glory, tradition, struggle and success at Bangabandhu Hall of Chittagong Press Club on Saturday (June 29). Chittagong North District Awami League organized this seminar.
Dr. Hashan Mahmud said, in fact, those whose leader said that if Bangladesh is connected with the submarine cable, all the secrets of the country will be out, they are not supposed to understand the meaning of connectivity, like the leader and her members, that’s why they are talking all these things and spreading confusion. I see some Pir sahib also jumping. The way people have been killed in Gaza, crimes against humanity are being committed, about 38,000 innocent people have been killed, I don’t see marching against them. BNP and Jamaat have not said a single word about it.
He said, all the achievements of Bangladesh have been achieved with the hands of Awami League. 75 years of Awami League’s path was always thorny. Awami League has always been undemocratic and vulnerable to evil forces. Awami League leaders and activists including Bangabandhu were arrested after Ayub Khan imposed martial law during the Pakistan period. After the 70’s election, Awami League leaders and activists were tortured. Many leaders and workers of Awami League gave their lives in the war of independence.
Foreign Minister Dr. Hasan said that after independence Ziaur Rahman and Ershad both military dictators have tortured Awami League. In 2007, military rule was actually going on in a different shell. The military regime was actually introduced by hiring some intellectuals in the society.
He said that BNP was in power at that time, BNP had failed in managing the country. The ruler who came alleging corruption and misrule should have arrested Begum Khaleda Zia first. But instead of doing that, they arrested the public leader Sheikh Hasina first. In other words, Bangabandhu, People’s Leader Sheikh Hasina and the leaders of Awami League were always under the eye of undemocratic and authoritarian forces.
People’s leader Sheikh Hasina has transformed into a world leader today. Hasan Mahmud said, as the foreign minister, I went to various conferences abroad with the prime minister and saw that he is the focus of everyone’s attention. Because of a population problem, affected by climate change and the way he transformed a country prone to storms, floods and floods into a developing country, changed the fate of people and outpaced all the surrounding countries in all indicators, we are lagging behind in India in terms of economic indicators and GDP per capita. dropped That is why he is coming to the seat of worldly honor today.
He said Bangladesh was a less developed country. From there it has now transformed into a food self-sufficient country. Transitioning from underdeveloped to developing countries. Transitioning from a food deficient country to a food self-sufficient country. Bangladesh ranks third in rice production, second in freshwater fish production, fourth in vegetable production, seventh in potato production, and top in the production of 14 agricultural products. But Bangladesh is the 92nd country in the world in terms of size. The amount of agricultural land per capita is the lowest. Human density is highest on Earth. These have become possible only because of the right leadership of People’s Leader Sheikh Hasina.
Chairman of Chittagong North District Awami League and former District Parishad Chairman MA Salam and General Secretary Sheikh Ataur Rahman moderated the seminar, Vice President of North District Awami League Professor Md. Moinuddin, Abul Kalam Azad, Zilla Parishad Chairman ATM Payrul Islam, Joint Secretary Debashish Palit, Members Iftekhar Hossain Babul, Bedarul Alam Chowdhury Bedar, Sarwar Shamim, District Women Awami League Senior Vice President Syeda Rifat Akhter Nishu, Volunteer League General Secretary Nashir Uddin. Riaz, Yuba Mahila League General Secretary Roshan Ara Ratna, Chhatra League General Secretary Rezaul Karim and others.
