SEREMBAN: Three girls reported missing from an orphanage in Kuala Pilah, Negri Sembilan since Friday (June 28) have been found safe in Melaka.

Kuala Pilah OCPD Supt Amran Mohd Ghani said acting on a tip-off, police found the girls at a house in Simpang Bekoh, Jasin at 9pm on Tuesday (July 2) along with two women, aged 35 and 67.

He said all of them were taken to the Simpang Bekoh police station, with initial investigations finding that the women were the aunt and grandmother of one girl.

“They were found safe in the care of the two women. They are in good health and sustained no injuries,” he said in a statement on Wednesday (July 3).

Supt Amran said the girls were then sent back to the orphanage.

It was reported on Tuesday that three girls aged between 11 and 14 were reported missing from the orphanage, run by a non-governmental organisation.

Police received the missing persons report at 10.30pm on Friday. – Bernama
