Roof collapse at Indira Gandhi Airport
Delhi experienced heavy rainfall, with the Safdarjung base station recording 228.1 mm of rain in the last 24 hours until 8:30 am today. Early Friday morning, a section of the roof at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi Airport Terminal-1 collapsed onto cars, leading to the temporary suspension of all flight departures from the terminal. Shashi Tharoor’s residence flooded
Shashi Tharoor recently shared a video on X showing the street outside his Delhi residence submerged under waist-deep water. In the video, locals were observed navigating the flooded road cautiously, using sticks to measure the depth and avoid any open sewers. In his post, Tharoor wrote, “This is the corner just outside my home in Lutyens’ Delhi. Woke up to find my entire home under a foot of water – every room. Carpets and furniture, indeed anything on the ground, ruined. Apparently the storm water drains in the neighborhood are all clogged so the water had no place to go..”
He added that the authorities had switched off the electricity since 6 am to prevent the risk of electrocution. Tharoor alerted his Parliament colleagues, jokingly cautioning that he might need a boat to reach there. He ended the post with, “But the city managed to pump water out of the roads and I did arrive in time!”

Bear visits amusement park
A black bear recently wandered into the “Bear Can” concession stand at Anakeesta Mountaintop Adventure Park in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, USA. The bear entered through an employee entrance, stood on its hind legs, checked out guests, ate some food, and left. As it exited, the bear accidentally bumped into a park worker, causing minor injuries. The worker dropped her things but managed to shut the door. Sadly, the bear was euthanized afterwards because it had touched a person, making relocation impossible, according to a report from Outlook.
