WWE SmackDown Highlights: After a chaotic ending of last week’s episode where AJ, on the pretext of announcing his retirement, attacked the WWE Undisputed Champion, Cody Rhodes, in the hope of getting a championship match, the June 7 (June 8 in India) episode of WWE SmackDown , was expected to be action-packed. The show delivered on its promise as two high-stakes matches were announced for the Clash at the Castle, along with two more championships that continued to take shape after this week’s actions.

Check out the top 5 moments from the June 7 episode of WWE SmackDown:

1]Bloodline makes a statement

The show started with the official annotation of Tanga Loa in the Bloodline, who were then attacked by Kevin Owens and The Street Profits, leading into the six-man tag team match between the Bloodline (Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa) vs Kevin Owens and The Street Profits (Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins).

Tama Tonga and Angelo Dawkins started the match for their respective teams. However, the game started to go haywire when Solo Sikoa and Kevin Owens got tagged in. Afterwards, the match goes to the ringside, and all six competitors go against each other. Owens and Profits won the match by DQ after Solo hit Owens with a steel chair. Bloodline then went on to deliver a strong statement by Solo giving a spear to Montez Ford and all three Bloodline members sending Owens through the announce table using a triple-power bomb, a move made famous by Roman Reigns former faction “The Shield,” to close the segment.

2]DIY continues their hunt for gold

DIY (Tomasso Ciampa and Jhonny Gargono) are currently on a hunt to win the WWE Tag Team Championships from A-Town Down Under (Austin Theory and Greyson Waller). After Ciampa defeated Theory last week, the members of the teams Gargano and Waller went toe-to-toe this week to continue their championship match buildup. Gargano was in firm control to win the match until Waller pulled Theory to evade the Suicide Dive from the DIY member and used the opportunity to close the match in his favor. Austin Theory did not look impressed by Waller’s tactic as he stood frustrated on the ringside while Waller celebrated his win in the ring.

3]Women’s Tag Team Titles match announced

After getting viciously attacked by Alba Fyre, Isla Dawn, Zoey Starc and Shayna Baszler on Raw, the current Women’s Tag Team Champions, Bianca Blair and Jade Cargill faced Candice and Indi on SmackDown. The champions once again made quick work of their challengers to win the match but were again attacked by their RAW assailants. However, this time, Jade and Bianca made a comeback and took down all four women before announcing a triple threat match for the Women’s Tag Team Champions at Clash at the Castle between all the three teams involved.

4]LA Knights get one over HIM

The Mega Star, LA Knight, who is now pursuing Logan Paul and his WWE United States Championship, confronts Nick Aldis on the champ’s absence but gets interrupted by Carmelo Hayes, leading to Nick announcing the match between Knight and Hayes. The match started with Hayes getting the lead and the self-proclaimed “HIM.” However, soon, Knight gets control of the match using his experience. Knight went for his finisher BFT, but Hayes countered him with a roll-up. Knight reversed that and picked up a win by roll-up of his own.

5]Undisputed WWE Title match set for Clash at the Castel

Another big stake was announced on this week’s SmackDown. Following last week’s attack by AJ Styles, Cody Rhodes was eager to get his hands on the Phenomenal one. After waiting a long time in the parking lot waiting for AJ, Rhodes made his way into the ring to call out AJ. Styles, along with his other OC members, Gallows and Anderson, came out and said he would not give Cody what he wanted until he got what he wanted. Cody accepts his challenge and announces that AJ will get his championship match at the Clash at the Castle, but also adds that it will not be a normal match but an “I Quit” match. Aldis, who was present on the ringside, approved the match by giving a thumbs up and making the match official for June 15.
